Have you started offering peer support and gotten excited about helping people change their lives, but don’t know where to begin? This workshop will share an evidence-based tool you can implement. In this workshop, you will learn processes to: 1) identify unhelpful beliefs, 2) dispute them once and for all, 3) come up with effective new beliefs, and 4) make them stick and lead to a lasting change in life. We’ll leave with an evidence-based ABC formula that you can use with any problem or emotional upsets. When you help your peers adopt these tenants and apply these processes to life, they can change anything they desire and live a life by their design.

Presented By: Eboni Jewel Sears, CADC-I, CPRSS has been on her recovery journey since joining the United States Navy almost 15 years ago. She attributes her success to treating her recovery like a marathon and not a sprint. Originally, Sears grew up immersed in the Gullah culture in the low-country of South Carolina, and over the years has been a rolling stone living in more than 30 cities. She is currently working on a graduate certificate in Advanced Addiction Studies, specializing in the action-oriented approach of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Sears is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor intern, a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist, and a master life coach.
